PONG!
Our take on the classic 1970’s PONG video game, locally designed and built in the Illawarra in our Makerspace using the original chip AY-3-8500. Fun for all ages (4+) on single player mode or against an opponent.
Games on the console include: double player mode for tennis, soccer, squash and single player practice mode.
To make the game more challenging options for high angle, fast speed or small bat are available.
Technologies used in this product from our very own makerspace are:
Electronics design of the printed circuit board in KiCAD
Soldering components onto the printed circuit board and connecting cables to the hand controllers.
3D printing PLA: game console box, hand controllers, storage insert for packaging
3D printing conductive PLA for the buttons
Laser cutting and engraving and paint fill of acrylic sheet for the face plate of the game console
Bored Owl’s PONG game kit includes:
The game console (with sound)
Two hand controllers (one for each player) hardwired to the game console
Video cable (composite video TV required)
Power adapter to connect to AU 240V only
